BRAMPTON — New Democrats in Brampton gathered to nominate three local candidates in a flurry of campaign meetings this weekend. Martin Singh (Brampton East), Sukhamrit Singh (Brampton Centre), and Ruby Zaman (Brampton North) will carry the NDP banner in their respective communities.
“After seven years of Doug Ford, life has only gotten more expensive for people in Brampton,” said Martin. “Our community deserves a government that hires doctors, fixes schools, and makes life more affordable," added Sukhamrit. "It's time to elect a team that will build the Ontario we all deserve," said Ruby.
Martin is a local pharmacist with Precision Health Group, with a rich educational background including degrees in chemistry and business. He has been recognized for his volunteer work with the Sierra Club of Canada, Planned Parenthood, and the 557 Lorne Scots Army Cadets where he’s lead hundreds of Brampton youth to opportunities and personal achievement.
Sukhamrit is a reservist in the Canadian Armed Forces, currently studying law to help workers get ahead. Ruby is a truck driver with first-hand experience with Ontario’s inadequate supports for children with special needs.
“Martin, Sukhamrit, and Ruby are the voices that Brampton needs at Queen’s Park,” said Marit Stiles, Leader of the Ontario NDP. “These three will fight for the things that matter the most and help us form a government that’s on your side. I am proud to have them on our team.”
